There is a Fairhope, Fairbanks, Fairland, Fairhaven, Fairport, and Fairmont, and a fair number of communities named Fairfield, but there is only one Fairborn.

Welcome Letter from the Mayor

Welcome to Fairborn--- a city of tradition and innovation. Fairborn is situated next to Interstate 675 which links I-70 and I-75. We are also located next to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the largest single-site employer in Ohio. WPAFB is home to the Air Force Materiel Command Headquarters, the Aeronautical Systems Center, the Air Force Research Laboratory, the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), and the National Museum of the United States Air Force.

Fairborn is on the cutting edge of technology as it welcomes the National Center for Medical Readiness, sometimes referred to as Calamityville. Calamityville T Tactical Laboratory is a disaster and emergency training center associated with the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University. Fairborn is also expecting an increase in employment with the addition of missions to WPAFB as a result of the Base Re-alignment (BRAC).

The City of Fairborn offers small town charm with big city opportunity and a population of over 32,000. We offer a quality park system and schools that include a growing Wright State University with the Nutter Center showcasing cultural activities, top entertainment and sports. The City of Fairborn is a full-service city and the housing choices have never been better. Our region has the largest concentration of scientists and engineers in the United States. We are also very proud of our quality of life, aviation history, historical heritage and promising future. Fairborn is a vibrant hometown community that enjoys one of the largest 4th of July parades, the Sweet Corn Festival in August and Heritage Days in June.
