Randy Groves began working as the City of Fairborn's Finance Director on March 17, 2008. 

Groves has more than 28 years experience working in finance and administration on local, county and state levels.  In 1980, Groves began working for the Ohio Auditor of State's Office where he performed financial and compliance audits of various counties, cities, townships, and school districts.  In 1991, Groves accepted the position of Assistant County Auditor for Butler County where he managed all functions of the Auditor's Office.  In 1996, he was promoted to Deputy Auditor - Advisory Services, and participated in the development of office procedures as well as preparation and amendment of personnel policies.  He was promoted again in 2002, to the position of Chief Deputy Auditor and was responsible for coordinating office operations as well as managing division directors and the auditor's administrative staff. 

Groves is a graduate of the Ohio State University and holds a BS in Business Administration.  He is also a Certified Public Finance Officer and Certified Government Financial Manager. 

Throughout his career, Groves has accumulated many years in executive level management and finance and payroll operations.  He also has eleven years of government auditing experience including supervising of audits.
