Does your community live up to your dream?

Do you live/work in a safe environment?

Can we improve our partnership with the Fairborn Police Department to better service our community?

Persons living or working Fairborn and those who own homes or businesses are making a major investment in this community.  Together, we want to ensure their safety.

The Fairborn Police Advisory Board (FPAB) is fostering a partnership with the Fairborn Police, and community members to make our community a better place to live, work and play.

Community Safety Checklist:

While the majority of neighborhoods in Fairborn are relatively safe, some of the following items might serve as a reminder to enhance safety in your neighborhood:

  1. Call 911 ONLY in emergency situations. For non-emergency situations, please call (937) 754-3000.
  2. When calling 911, remain as calm as possible, to provide accurate information to the Police Dispatcher.
  3. Attempt to meet your neighbors, fellow residents and coworkers. Be watchful of your surroundings.
  4. Report suspicious acts and unusual situations to authorities, when justified.
  5. Insure that you are aware of curfews and instruct children accordingly.
  6. Try to jog or walk with a friend in well lit areas.
  7. School children should contact the School Resource Officer, Officer Bill Titley, for public safety assistance at school.
  8. Community policing means residents are asked to cooperate with police to prevent and reduce crime.
  9. Use outside lights at night if a lamp post is not near your house.
  10. Insure personally owned vehicles, if parked outside, are licensed and secured/locked.
  11. Remove valuables from vehicles. It is safer to park vehicles in a garage.
  12. Report vehicles that appear to be abandoned to the Fairborn Police Department.
  13. Be aware that Driving While Intoxicated (DUI) enforcement and speed enforcement are daily police activities.
  14. Support Drug Awareness Programs, such as D.A.R.E.
  15. Encourage youth involvement in crime prevention. They should report crimes to their parents.
