On December 7, 2007, Councilman James R. Hapner was elected to continue serving the citizens of Fairborn for a four-year term after being appointed in 2006 to fill the position vacated by John “Barney” Skidmore. Having served on the Mayor’s Beautification Committee, Planning Board, and Zoning Board of Appeals, Hapner is no stranger to the responsibilities of city government.
Jim graduated from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1973. He has owned businesses in Greene and Montgomery Counties and managed funeral homes as a practicing mortician and Funeral Director for more than thirty years. Jim now is an associate of the Jackson Lytle & Williams Funeral Homes, of Springfield, South Charleston, Cedarville, & Yellow Springs.
Locally, Jim volunteers for the Fairborn City Schools, and is a master mason with Minerva Lodge #98.
Jim has been a resident of Fairborn since 1989. He and his wife, Nancy McMahan, have six children and one grandchild.
