What is GIS?
  • GIS stands for Geographic Information Systems.
  • GIS is a system used for capturing, checking, storing, analyzing, managing and displaying geographic information.
  • GIS is used to visualize, analyze, question and understand information about the spatial world around us and our activities.  Spatial analysis can reveal patterns and show connection geographically that may not be apparent in text and on tables.
