Equipment Maintenance

To provide the City of Fairborn with a safe and dependable motor vehicle fleet.

Street & Sanitation

To provide the citizens with well-maintained, safe, and properly marked streets and intersections and to provide proper garbage disposal in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Specific Functions

Equipment Maintenance:

Responsible for the repair and service of all City-owned vehicles, off-road construction equipment, static generator sets and mowing/trimming equipment.

Street & Sanitation:

Administration Work scheduling and direct supervision of employees, budget planning and reports.

Sanitation Coordinate with City trash hauling contractor for garbage and trash removal and oversee citizen satisfaction with service; monitor closure requirements for landfill including landscaping and erosion control.

Street Cleaning Sweeping operations to keep streets clean of loose aggregate materials, excess leaf accumulation, and litter as appropriate.

Maintenance Repairs and New Construction. Snow removal; storm-damage control; roadway patching including pot holes, water breaks, and water and sewer installation cuts;preparation for annual street maintenance program; build and maintain park roadways and parking lots.

Traffic Signs and Signals Striping and sign installation, repair/replace damaged signs, bulb replacement of traffic signals, traffic loop installation, handle barricades for roadway detours and special events.
