Jonathan Boeckman was hired as the City of Fairborn’s Neighborhood Betterment Director on January 9, 2008.
Boeckman is a graduate of Wright State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Affairs. He is currently working on a Master of Public Administration at the University of Dayton.
From 1989-1994, Boeckman worked for the City of Dayton as a Neighborhood Affairs Coordinator. He worked closely with numerous business and neighborhood associations to determine the needs of those areas and collaborated with city staff, elected officials, and other agencies to make certain those needs were met. During this time, Boeckman worked with a 48-member board to develop programs and projects through the capital improvement process for southeast Dayton neighborhoods.
In 1994, Boeckman went to work for the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court where he served for 15 years as an Intensive Probation Officer. He worked with multiple jurisdictions to ensure that proper steps were taken for the holding and release of prisoners in the Montgomery County Jail. Additionally, he managed the Electronic Home Detention Program and provided probation supervision services for high risk felony offender.
Boeckman has been involved with a number of community associations: President of the East Dayton Optimist Club, non-resident board member of the Greenmont Mutual Housing Association, President of the Shroyer Park Community Council, member of the Southeast Priority Board, and member of the Board of Directors for the Bomberger YMCA.
Boeckman has two sons, Nicholas and Alex, who attend Fairmont High School.
