The Fairborn Parks and Recreation Division feels there is something for everyone when it comes to recreational fun. Many of the activities are annual events, and new activities have been added.
Take a Hike, Win a Prize! - Wednesday, October 5
Enjoy a series of leisurely hikes through Fairborn's beautiful parks led by an Ohio Certified Naturalist. Each hike you participate in allows your name to be entered into a drawing for a prize at the end of the day's hike! The first hike will take place at Valle View Reserve, 1097 Empire Ct. Paper Pumpkin on Painted Canvas - Thursday, October 6
Students will paint an 8 x 10 canvas blue and use patterned paper as well as brown buttons to create a pumpkin and grassy scene. All supplies are included in the fee. Click here for a printable registration form.
Read, Explore, Create - Seeds, Seeds, Seeds! - Thursday, October 13

Family Fun Pumpkin Carving - Tuesday, October 25

The Annual Fishing Derby - May
The Annual Fishing Derby takes place on the second Saturday in May at Community Park Pond. Prizes are awarded for catching the most fish, the longest fish, and the smallest fish. Prior to the derby there is a Passport to Fishing class for adolescents ages 4 – 17, which teaches casting, knot tying, and fish identification, it is offered and limited to the first 50 registrants. A fishing license is not required, but you will need to bring your pole, bait and basket.
