Fairborn Citizens Police Academy

  1. Citizens Police Academy

    The Citizens Police Academy is a twelve-week course, that will meet every Thursday, dealing with all aspects of law enforcement roles, operations, and community service. Taught by Fairborn officers, participants can expect to learn about SRO, shoot/don't shoot scenarios, patrol, crash and OVI investigations, firearms safety, and much more.

  2. Registration The Citizens Police Academy is open to Fairborn residents and business owners over 18 yrs old. To ensure all participants receive the maximum benefit from the program, class size is limited to sixteen (16) participants and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. To apply for the Citizens Police Academy, complete the registration application below.

  3. A criminal background check is required as part of the application process. The Fairborn Police Department reserves the right to deny applications based on an applicant's criminal history. For more information, contact Sgt. Willard Watts at 937-754-3227.

  4. Class Participation: Academy participants must attend 10 of 12 class sessions to receive a certificate of completion. During the academy, participants can schedule a ride-along session with a Fairborn Police officer by contacting Sgt. Willard Watts at 937-754-3066 ext. 3811

Further, I release any and all persons, institutions, corporations, governmental agencies, the Fairborn Police Department, its officers, executives, and employees, individually and in their official capacities from any and all liability that may arise from researching my background or from y participation in the Citizens Police Academy.
