Located just off of Dayton-Yellow Springs Road near I-675, the station's primary response district is the southeast portion of the City. Currently housed at Fire Station Number 2 are Medic 2 and Reserve Engine 6. The station is staffed by two personnel as budget permits. The primary response vehicle in the station is Medic 2. The crew will also use Tanker 2 if needed for fires in non-hydrant areas within the Township and City.

Equipped with the only fire-training tower in the City, the tower is useful for crews to practice high-rise evolution, rope rescue training and aerial apparatus operations. Crews can pump almost 1,000 gallons of water into the tower to simulate supplying a sprinkler system in a commercial type building.

The station has a formal training room that is also utilized by the public as a community room. The building is also equipped with a police sub-station.
