Government Access Channel 5

A microphone with orange cable.
FGTV-5 is one of four access channels provided by Time/Warner Cable. The other access channels are Public Channel 23, Educational Channel 6 (Fairborn City Schools) and educational Channel 21 (Wright State University). Our channel provides a direct link to the city without leaving the comfort of your living room.

Meetings

FGTV-5 runs meeting coverage of City Council and the Planning Board. Fairborn City Council meetings are cablecast live on the first and third Monday of the month at 7 p.m.

Fairborn in Five

Fairborn in Five is a series of short videos covering several City Departments and Divisions. These videos can not only be seen on Channel 5, but also on YouTube and on our Fairborn Videos Page.

Fourth of July Parade Coverage

Fairborn Government Access Channel 5 provides coverage of Fairborn's Fourth of July Parade. The parade is replayed daily throughout July and even has weekly replays in January (just to remember those warmer days). Parade hosts Lew and Diana Lewis provide the commentary with camera work done by a volunteer crew.

Messages on Channel 5

Channel 5 carries a "video bulletin board" of messages between programming. Messages are typically related to City Government. For questions about a message or to place a message on Channel 5 please contact the City's Public Information Officer. To place a Public Access message contact Time Warner Cable at 937-396-8355.

Programming on Channel 5

Fairborn Government Access Channel 5 runs meeting replays daily. Much of it's original programming has been suspended for budget reasons. Hopefully shows such as Community Spotlight, My Hometown, Our Fairborn Heritage, Safety First and other original productions will return in the future. Channel 5 continues to run Federal and State produced government programming on topics such as:
  • Army Newswatch
  • Finer With Age
  • In the Fight
  • National Gallery of Art Presents...
  • Road to Recovery
  • Today's Air Force
  • Wild Ohio!
